Hokkei's evidential value is archaeological. The shaft opening survives, and the ground around it retains features interpreted as traces of steam-related machinery. The original headworks, engine house, transport arrangements, stores, and other working structures are no longer a complete standing ensemble. This fragmentary condition is not a defect to be filled with imaginative reconstruction. It permits a precise distinction between what can be seen, what excavation and survey identify below ground, and what digital interpretation proposes from research. The city's location-based CG program helps restore functional relationships for viewers, but an image on a screen remains interpretation. Protected archaeology, not a rebuilt mine, is the site's primary material identity.
